Spiritual Generativity of Roger Birkman

A Lived Life. Roger Birkman was a pragmatic thought leader who exclusively pursued a religious life. During Roger’s lifetime, many theologians moved from a strict objective reasoning approach to a subjective confessing position. In tune with this spirit Roger took a confessing understanding of his life that accepted a calling by God mindset.

The “why” of writing this essay is to introduce the reader to the spiritual oriented side of Roger Birkman and his reserved yet acute fever for God’s calling. Along with social psychology, he pursued the religious propensities of human nature with a sense of urgency. In the spirit of William James lectures, this essay will share some short personal perceptions of “how” Roger’s faith worked to keep him in the forefront of theological, social science and moral psychological applications.
